To move or not to move...
I've been toying around with the idea of moving my blog to my own site.
Any thoughts?
Of course, the name would no longer be 'Just Floating'...or maybe it could...

I thought that the BD feed was part of the paid subscription. I left BD and started my own site and while it is a lot of work sometimes, I don't miss Blogdrive and I like having options to do whatever I want however I want. | |

I've had a few people moaning and groaning about my lack of feed (evidently, left-clicking is the new "strenuous excercise" :-) ) so I've been wanting to add it. actually, blogdrive provides two types of RSS feeds for all bd accounts, whether subscription or free: XML and ATOM. for more info, go here:

while hosting your blog on your website server isn't a bad idea, it will mean more work as you'll have to set up many functions bd offers for free...comments, tagboard, etc., assuming you want to have those features. yes, you'll have more functionality, assuming you're a code monkey, but it will also be a lot more work, both initially and in maintenance.
still, whatever you choose will be right for you, RJ...your readers will follow you, wherever you host your blog. /smile | |

Well, from what I understand Blogdrive doesn't let you have a feed, so changing could get you that, which would be nice for current readers as well as helpful in generating new ones. I like your layout, header, floating theme, etc., and hope you keep that. Hosting your own site will give you loads more flexibility, which could be fun if you like to play around with stuff, add in widgets, etc. JennyJinx is a good person to discuss that with. | |
